On March 2, 2022 the Climate and Resilience Education Task Force (www.cretf.org) hosted a youth-facilitated climate education listening session with New York State elected officials and their staff. In attendance were Senators Shelley Mayer and Cordell Cleare, Assemblymembers Linda Rosenthal, Al Taylor, and Emily Gallagher. Also offering commentary were Michael Press (from Senator Mayer's office) and Emily Dominiak (from Senator Kaminsky's office). There was agreement that K12 climate education is essential and, as Senator Mayer - Chair of the Senate Education Committee - stated, "students deserve it and society requires it."
