The Wild Center, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Smithsonian, Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, the Climate Mental Health Network, New York City Department of Education - Office of Sustainability, and the National Wildlife Federation/CRETF welcome you to the Educating for Climate Action Summit during Climate Week NYC.
This Summit, held at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, will bring together formal and informal educators from diverse backgrounds to explore key themes in climate change education, including the integration of youth perspectives, Indigenous knowledge systems, and climate justice in learning experiences in and out of the classroom. An evening reception will celebrate the release of the U.S. Global Change Research Program’s Climate Literacy Guide: Understanding and Addressing Climate Change, a new resource for teaching, talking, and making decisions about climate change!
The reception will feature networking opportunities with leading climate education organizations and institutions. You are welcome to join us for all or part of the day’s activities. More details about the agenda can be found in the registration link.
